Before you upgrade, please understand
- TN is a backup service, not day-to-day infrastructure. Your keys are generated on your device and live there. The TN SDK reads, signs, and writes attested records locally; it does not depend on us at runtime. The vault stores encrypted copies of your keystore for cross-device recovery and centralizes administrative actions (grants, revokes, rotation). If the vault is unreachable, your local SDK continues to work.
- The Service may be discontinued. We are in beta. We may shut down with limited or no notice. If that happens and you have lost your local keystore, you may not be able to recover the encrypted backups stored in the vault. You are responsible for keeping your own local copies of any keys or material you cannot afford to lose.
- The encrypted material on the vault stays encrypted. We never see your keys in plaintext, your log entries, or the contents of your sealed records. If the vault is wound down, what's at risk is access to those encrypted bytes (we may not be able to keep them online indefinitely), not the secrecy of what they contain.
- Wind-down protection: we plan to keep the vault accessible for at least 90 days after we publicly announce a shutdown so you can retrieve your encrypted backups, project audit records, and any vault-side state. This is a stated intention, not a contractual guarantee. The full disclaim-everything stance lives in our Terms.
- Auto-renew at prevailing rates. Your first year is free during beta. Stripe still collects a payment method at Checkout (subscription mode requires it) so the year-2 renewal goes through automatically at whatever the published rate is at that time. Cancel any time via Manage subscription in your dashboard.
What we commit to during beta
- Features ship continuously. If we build something and it works, you get it. Beta is when product velocity is highest; you're getting the most active version of TN we've ever shipped.
- Free for your first year. No credit card charge while we're in beta. Stripe still collects a payment method so renewals work cleanly when beta graduates, but the first invoice is $0.
- Wind-down protection. If beta doesn't graduate to a stable release, we plan to keep the vault accessible for at least 90 days after we announce the wind-down so you can retrieve your encrypted backups, project audit records, and any vault-side state. Your local keystore continues to work after that whether or not the vault is up.
- Your keys never leave plaintext. The protocol commitments in our Terms hold whether the vault is beta, GA, or being wound down.
What stays the same
Your encrypted backups, your keys, and the SDK behave identically on Free and Pro. Pro adds operational convenience and longer retention.
